ABOUT US
Ecliptic Visuals is owned and operated by Mohammed Raoof and Khayyam Khan. They are both photographers that follow very different disciplines in terms of academics and career paths but have combined efforts in the pursuit of exploring the world through images.

How did you begin taking pictures?

MR: It began during my 6 month recovery period from an ongoing attempt to repair my knee from a childhood injury. I had nothing to do so I tried something I hadn’t don’t before. I just picked up a camera one day and started shooting. I thought anybody could take pictures, that anybody could pick up a camera and just be a photographer. But after my sister bought me my first camera, a fisheye film, I realized that it’s not just a matter of going through the motions of a photographer that makes you one. It’s cultivating a strong sense of involvement with aspects of everyday life that we usually just pass by at a distance.
KK: I initially started with graphic design at a young age. In many video games back then it was popular to have your own custom design as your avatar or logo so I decided to make my own. Through this I began editing photos and realized its pretty difficult to find good photos consistently so, naturally, the next step was to find photographers. After finding a few good ones I fell in love with the art and I’ve been shooting ever since.

How long have you been shooting for?

MR: For as long as I can remember but I started seriously thinking about it at the beginning of 2010.
KK: Got my first camera in my high school senior year of 2007 but got serious after teaming up with Mo in 2010.

Have you had any classes or formal training?
